Thanksgiving has come and gone, and we are still eating turkey.  No complaints here.  David used the rest of his fried turkeys to make sausage and turkey gumbo.  I've been in heaven.  I was regrettfully not able to take many pictures this year, because I came down with an awful respiratory virus.

Our Thanksgiving holiday started off with the girls and I visitng Oxford for the Ole Miss/LSU game.  As soon as we got there, I felt so bad I couldn't get out of the bed.  Thanks to my family, the girls got to go to the grove, the Phi Mu house (many times for a potty break), and see the Rebelettes and Ole Miss band.  I was able to take a few pictures before they headed off.

Once back in Texas, we had a full house with LaLa, Mad-dog, Nana, Gran, Patsy, Patrick, Eliza, Nancy and David.  A big thanks to Lauren for doing the majority of cooking and her organizational skills.  Thanks everyone for traveling so far to be with us and make it such a memorable time.  We love you all.

Oh, Eliza and I also had fun making this edible (most of it, anyways) centerpiece.  It's made up of 3 red pears (two cut in half and scooped out for tea lights), 2 green pears, 2 yellow bartlett pears, eucalyptus leaves, baby's breath, and red and green hypericum berries (all found at Kroger, yay!)

Mommy's Project 52:7 Selfless

I didn't think I would get this behind on my Mommy's Project so early on.  I guess doing it 5 weeks late is better than not at all.

My girls are very concerned with who is and is NOT sharing.  They are constantly keeping tabs on each other, their friends, the dog Molly, the boy across the street, Cailou on TV, and the squirrel family that lives in our backyard.  You can still see on their faces the inner battle that goes on when they don't want to give up their toy to their sister.  I do have to say that they are still really good at sharing than most their age.  I think that has to do with being a twin.  They have always had someone that they had to share everything with.  Sometimes, I will catch them selflessly giving something to their sister or genuinely concerned that their sister did not get something.   I can't quite recall what it was or when it was but I do recall how it made me feel.  It was the best present ever to see that they truly thought of their sister and gave without thinking twice, or keeping score, and without the motivation of a reward.

Mommy's Project 52: 6 Crazy

I am trying to do major catch up.  These days we are very busy between school 2 days/week, ballet, bible study for me, twin/triplet playdates, and just the everyday hustle and bustle.  It just hit me that my laundry load will only increase from here on out!  Hopefully, my little helpers will be able to tackle those clothes basket soon.

So, I feel like everyday is crazy with 3 year olds.  I can't think of one specific thing.  I did however find a cute or crazy pic (I'll let you decide) of the girls.  Since we have 94 bows (for real, I counted), David and the girls decided to have some fun with them.  I heard them giggling from another room the entire time David carefully placed each and every bow in their hair, and he didn't forget about Baby Doll Huggums.  What a great Dad!  Oh, and my girls are probably running around in their underwear about 50% of the time, so these pictures really captured them in their normal attire!

Ballet

The girls started ballet in August. They love it! The room has a castle above the mirror, so they are in heaven. They are learning to dance with Teddy Bears right now and will give the mommies and daddies a show in 2 weeks. I had to snap some pictures before class the other day. Couldn't believe we were running early!  I'd love to know what they are discussing in this pic.  I think it is an earnest discussion about the garbage cans.

Oh, I'm also very behind on my mommy project posts. The next one is "Crazy". I'm still trying to figure out how to narrow that down to just one post :)

"V" is for Vortex

Some days I feel so confident about my mommy teaching skills, like when the girls create a new painting or when they grasped the "putting your tee tee in the potty" concept.  So, when my girls come out of the bathtub one day after their daddy (a self proclaimed science geek/enthusiast) bathed them, they started telling me about a vortex.  I gave them a big proud smile and then sneaked off to go google "vortex".  I did enjoy my nursing school sciences like anatomy, physiology, and chemistry, but  David brings a whole different type of science to the table.  He likes to think he's educating me on black holes, worm holes, whatever other kind of holes are out there in space (I tend to start daydreaming mid way through his talks or DVR'd shows).  I'm so glad I married a science geek, and hopefully the girls will love to learn science the way their daddy does.

Here are the girls and their vortexes:

This picture just cracked me up.  It's Claire Bear.

Mommy's Project 52:5 Loving

My girls are like little mommas.  They love to sing to their dolls and then rock them to sleep.  Natalie decided she wanted to soothe and rock a not so traditional "baby doll".  I call this video "Sweetheart".

Mommy's Project 52:4 Dirty

I've finally come to the realization that until my kids turn 10, you will find cheerios or remnants of lunch on my floor at all times.  I can sweep my floor 3 times a day, and my girls will still somehow manage to share their lunch with the floor.  My little brother did just move in with us, and he did bring a little helper in the form of a sweet puppy dog, Molly.

So not only do my kiddos greatly increase the odds of a dirty floor but they also contribute to the mounds of dirty laundry.  I feel like I'm always making the girls take off their shirts for dinner, especially for spaghetti night.  I seriously want to invest in spray n wash stock!

Of course, my girls love to dig in the dirt just like their mommy.  We spent the spring making mud pies and mud lakes with the hose.  It's been so hot here in drought striken Texas that the dirtiest we've gotten is indoor painting.  Here's pictures from our latest playdate with LaLa, her friend Lisha (you can find her blog here), and her sweet daughter Elle.  You can see that we controlled the situation with no shirts and covering everything in paper.  We started out making turtles and that quickly became a face painting extravaganza. (Oh, please excuse the way I look.  I'm trying out this new concept for me; it's called "exercising" :)
