Are they really this big?

David and I are just blown away at how fast the girls are growing, physically and mentally.  They have now learned how to climb onto the couch, so we are having to rethink our current baby proofing strategies.  Claire tried to scale the back of the couch in hopes of reaching the light switch.  Natalie loves to take off all the couch cushions and jump into the pile.  Claire also protests when eating.  She will not let you feed her with a spoon at all, unless she has her own spoon and can dip it into the food herself.  She is quite the persistant one :) 

 

 

E-I-E-I-O

Aunt LaLa (YaYa per the girls) was in town for a conference.  She helped us bring the twins to the KAMOM (Kingwood area moms of multiples)  Halloween party at Old McDonalds Farm.  There was a petting zoo (where we had to keep Natalie from trying to eat the animal feed), a choo choo train, and nacho cheese! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Catching up....

September was  a crazy month.  We were able to travel to Louisiana and then later that month we all ended up with the flu.  I feel like I'm still catching up, meanwhile the girls are getting busier.  Maybe that's how it is with toddlers, they are getting smarter, faster, messier, and sweeter with each passing day.  We had a blast at the New Orleans Zoo with Emily & Adam and Lauren & Madison.  Here's a few pics from that trip: 

Kisses and outside fun

David and I decided the girls need to see the outdoors more. So this evening we got out a bubble maker and scooter toys that our neighbors gave us. Okay, a bubble maker on the ground around two one year olds is not the best idea that we have come up with. We were chasing Natalie around with wet wipes because between the bubble solution and the dirt in potted plants, Natalie was one soapy/dirty child. Of anyone, Natalie would find a way to get filthy and soapy at the same time. Claire had the best time with the scooter toys. Of course, her methods were unconventional. She taught Natalie how to push these scooters rather than sit on them and use her legs to move forward.  So, whatever makes them happy, makes us happy.

Oh, today was a huge milestone for Claire (okay more for her daddy and mommy). Claire gave us kisses for the first time ever. Of course, we bugged her all day long for a kiss. I'm sure she'll be tired of us pretty soon. We just couldn't get enough of her.

Welcome to our Blog!

So I've decided to try out this blogging thing. The title is inspired by a song by The Temptations. As a kid, I played my mom's cassette tape of the Big Chill soundtrack over and over, where I was introduced to Aretha, Smokey, and the Temptations. Lauren and I (and probably Emily) gave some really top quality concerts at MaMa's with that soundtrack. I just love that era in American music and what better names to describe my girls. So here goes...

Finally I have my healthy, happy girls back. They've been sick with a virus for the past week, and I'm finally getting smiles from my little rascals. We took them to the park this morning and did they get dirty. Claire for some reason has a fascination with leaves, acorns, gumballs etc... She has to see how they all taste. Now I'm just wondering how to get her interested in the stuff I put on her plate. I think they are also warming up to dogs. They both ran right up to two Corgis and let the dogs lick them. They both let out ear piercing shrieks of joy over the doggies. Oh, thanks to Carol for the tepee. The girls love, love, love it. I think David does too:) Natalie bounces off every side until she finally falls out the opening. It's hilarious because you just see these bulges in the fabric sides and hear tons of commotion and then here she bursts (falls) through the opening with a huge smile. I need to get it on video. I'm also posting the latest picture of Natalie's latest balancing act. We don't know how she managed this but David found her like this and took a quick pic with his cellphone.
